Diss youth in spotlight

Members of Diss Town Youth FC will be promoting the club at the Diss Youth Expo event being held at Diss Corn Hall on Saturday between 10am and 4pm.

The event is to promote youth activities in Diss and the surrounding area with around 28 different clubs attending

this year.

Club press officer Tony Collins said: “It will be a great opportunity for us to show the local area what is available to young people interested in playing football now that the former Bressingham Youth F C have joined with Diss Town F C.”

Diss Youth are enjoying a great season so far with the U16s currently fourth in their league with games in hand and only one league defeat. They are also in a cup semi-final and one game away from making another semi-final.

The U15s are having a great season also and are unbeaten in the league and over 10 points clear of the rest. The U14s had a fantastic cup run in the Norfolk County Minor Cup but were unfortunately beaten by Clenchwarton 5-3 in the semi-finals.

The U10 Hawks are also having a good season and are currently third in their league just behind the top two having only lost two league games so far.

The Hawks (current School Year Five) move up to 11 a-side next season along with the U10 Tigers so will be looking to increase their numbers over the Summer. The Youth Expo is a great start to advertise for more players in this and all the other age groups.

The club also currently have teams in the U9 and U8 age groups and are now in the process of developing a team in the U7 age group who will start to play their first games soon.
