A major road through a south Norfolk village will be closed later this month as a £395,000 resurfacing project gets under way.

The A1066 in Roydon will be closed for nine days from Saturday, March 11, as a worn-out road surface is removed and replaced with a new asphalt surface.

The work will consist of daytime work for two consecutive weekends at Old High Road to Copeman Road and weekday nights at Old High Road to Denmark Lane. 

On Saturday, March 11, and Sunday, March 12, the roads will be closed from 6am to 6pm.

Night closures from Monday, March 13, to Friday, March 17, will run from 7pm until 6am.

Daytime closures on Saturday, March 18, to Sunday, March 19, will run from 6am to 6pm, followed by an overnight closure from 7pm until 6am on Monday, March 20.

During the works, access will be maintained to businesses and properties in Tudor Avenue and The Close.

A fully signed diversion route will be in place during the works.
