A section of the busy A11 will be closed later this month as part of ongoing work to rebuild the road.

The southbound stretch between Thickthorn and Attleborough will be shut from 8pm to 6am on Monday, May 22 to Thursday, May 25.Diss Mercury: A diversion has been provided by National Highways that redirects traffic toward DissA diversion has been provided by National Highways that redirects traffic toward Diss (Image: National Highways)

Drivers wanting to head south will be diverted east from the Thickthorn roundabout along the A47, then south on the A140 and onto the A1066, rejoining the A11 at Thetford.

Motorists are being urged to follow signposted diversions to prevent "rat-running" in neighbouring roads and villages.

A separate closure on Tuesday, May 30, will see the B1135 from Spinks Lane to the B1172 shut overnight.
