A Norfolk town has been earmarked for mystery redevelopment opportunities.
South Norfolk Council is exploring regeneration potential in Diss, near the Mere, but is keeping the details of its proposals tightly under wraps.
The area could be the next in line for a huge new redevelopment project but officials at the authority say specifics cannot be disclosed due to "commercial sensitivity".
Locals have previously called for a ban on future building applications around the Mere in the hopes of preserving the town's beauty spot.
There are several acres of unused land to the south of the Mere, which were previously earmarked for a 27-bedroom hotel and retail units. These plans were met with significant opposition and ultimately scrapped.
This area will also be home to the town's new Aldi store in the former Feather Company factory, under plans approved by South Norfolk Council.
This is expected to replace the existing supermarket in Mere Street as its lease is due to expire next year.
South Norfolk Council is understood to be putting together a 'masterplan' which will provide a framework for development and land use in the area.
