A man has appeared in court accused of kicking and punching a dog during an incident that also saw him allegedly deliver homophobic abuse.
Timothy Mayhew, 45, pleaded not guilty at Norwich Magistrates’ Court to causing unnecessary suffering to the dog, called Snoopy, in Diss on April 2.
Mayhew, of Rashs Crescent in Wortham, also denies two charges of causing harassment through threatening behaviour and abusive homophobic language on the same date.
He will stand trial at Great Yarmouth Magistrates' Court on September 1 next year.
