Great Yarmouth Town will have to do it the hard way again if they want to prolong their dreams of reaching Wembley.
The Bloaters, who play at Step Six of the non-league ladder, have beaten two teams from the level above them in this season's FA Vase. And they'll have to pull off another upset in the first round proper on Saturday October 31 to move a step closer towards trying to make a memorable appearance at the home of football.
The Thurlow Nunn First Division outfit have been drawn at Spartan South Midlands League top-flight London Colney while their east coast rivals, higher-tier Gorleston, can enjoy home comforts against London Tigers. Diss Town will host Basildon United, Swaffham Town welcome FC Broxbourne Borough and Wisbech Town – entering the hat for the first time this term – entertain Alvechurch. Kirkley & Pakefield, also exempt until the first round due to their exploits in the competition last term, will travel to fellow Thurlow Nunn Premier Division Brantham Athletic. Winners of the ties will pocket £900 and book a place in the second round – where Norwich United are already waiting.
