Diss Town slipped to a third successive defeat in Thurlow Nunn League Division One North on Friday evening when they were beaten 2-1 at home by Norwich CBS.

The Tangerines made a bright start to a game watched by a crowd of 157 and were ahead inside 15 minutes.

A mazy run by Kieran Hagan was halted by a foul just outside the box and with the referee playing advantage the ball broke to Josh Lucraft who fired home.

CBS regrouped and were back on level terms on 36 minutes through Stephen Drake.

The visitors then got their noses in front five minutes into the second half when a poor clearance from Diss keeper Kingsley Barnes fellow to James Page who found the back of the net to make it 2-1.

Barnes later made a brilliant save to prevent the visitors from adding a second goal but they still left Brewers Green Lane with all three points.

The Tangerines now face two games in the space of four days as their season draws to a close. They are away to Felixstowe and Walton Reserves on Saturday and then host Lakenheath on Easter Monday (both 3pm).

Swaffham Town cranked up the pressure on leaders Harleston Town with a big win.

The Pedlars thrashed Ipswich Wanderers 6-1 away to move up to second spot on a day when they were the only one of the top three to play.

Victory means Swaffham are now five points ahead of third-placed Mulbarton Wanderers and two behind Harleston – and with a game in hand.

Swaffham will be expected to pick up another three points on Saturday when they have a swift return match with Ipswich Wanderers at Shoemakers Lane.

Harleston are at home to March while Mulbarton travel to King's Lynn Reserves.

On Easter Monday Mulbarton host Swaffham in what should be a cracking match while Harleston visit Cornard.

Wymondham Town got back to winning ways in the Anglian Combination Premier Division when they won 3-0 at relegated Norwich United Under-21s, with Bryn Mullen getting a hat-trick.

On Saturday Wymondham host Beccles Town while in other games Scole entertain Norwich CEYMS and Long Stratton travel to St Andrews still with an outside chance of winning the title. Scole play again on Easter Monday at home to Mattishall (12).
